Whose Voice was used to Fallout 4

Just because you’re the Lone Wanderer doesn’t mean you need to be silent. For the first time in the series, Fallout 4 features a fully voiced protagonist. While this elevated the game’s storytelling and player immersion, it also presented a number of challenges for Bethesda Game Studios, beginning with the all-important question: Who would actually say all those lines?

While seeking out the perfect performers, BGS knew they would need both a male and female actor who could commit multiple years to the project. The actors also needed to deliver an everyman (or everywoman) voice that could appropriately represent player’s character and the choices they make.

After numerous auditions, the team chose L.A. natives Brian T. Delaney and Courtenay Taylor to fill these roles. Working with BGS, Blindlight Studios, and voice director Kal-El Bogdanove, Delaney and Taylor each delivered more than 13,000 lines of dialogue over nearly two and half years.

Learn more about their journey into the wasteland in a new audio interview with Bethesda’s Jessica Finster and Matt Grandstaff.
