SIFx – Subtle Improvement FX – ReShade – SweetFX – CommonFX

Do you like Fallout 4’s original look, but still think it looks a bit washed out or blurry?

Want to improve upon it without taking away too much from the original, while keeping your performance almost intact?

Then this mod is for you!

What does it do?

This mod injects multiple shaders into the game to improve graphics, without ruining the original feel of the game. SIFx introduces:

Sharpening: Brings out the small details in textures, best used with TAA, which reduces aliasing hugely, but introduces a lot of blurriness

Vibrance: Slightly increased to make colors pop a little bit more

Contrast: Slightly increased to make the game feel less washed out

Chromatic Aberration: While not a fan of this myself, a very, very slight implementation of this fits the retro-futuristic atmosphere well, can be easily disabled if disliked

The difference is very subtle in the Nexus screenshots because of compression, but you’re welcome to open the before/after shots in new tabs and quickly switch between them to better compare.

To Install

Extract everything to your Fallout 4 root folder (Commonly C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4)

To Uninstall

Delete dxgi.dll, reshade.fx and the Reshade folder from the Fallout 4 root folder

Performance

This mod is designed to be as minimalistic on both performance and visuals as possible, and as such won’t prove to be a big fps loss, however it is recommended that you run the mod with TAA enabled, as the sharpening is designed to counteract the blurriness that it implements, you can expect to lose from 1 to 5 fps at the very worst.
