Ready4Fallout

Requires .NET 4.5 Framework – microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653

I created this little app trying to help out folks on the steam forums. (Got a temp ban, for posting shady .exe “Thanks laptop65” )
EDIT: Talked with Laptop65, and I understand his reasoning, with all of the keyloggers people are trying to use. I’ll wait out my ban lol.

I believe some of the crashes and black screen issue some folks are having is related to file system permissions.

I wrote this little app quickly, to help the not so savvy computer user check if permissions allow Fallout4.exe to read and write to the necessary directories.

I also added an extra little function that moves all but the last 5 game saves, as I suspect having too many saves in the saves folder, causes some crashing, but i’d like to test it out further, and see if other people have reduced or no crashing with this adjustment.

Anyway please feel free to try it out and report your results or thoughts. Thanks.

NOTE: I’m a noob at programming, so the code sucks. But should be quite safe.

Instructions:
Run app.
Press “Check” button.
Locate folder where “Fallout4.exe” is located (i.e “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout4\”).
Press “OK’.
All text should be green, ( Safely ignore “Run as admin”, it only tells me if you ran the app with admin permissions. )

A text file called “output.txt” is created in the same location as Ready4Fallout.exe, feel free to copy paste the text from that file into a reply here.

Looking forward to any constructive criticism.
