Pimp-Boy 4 Billion (Golden Pip-boy) – WIP


Currently a proof of concept and a placeholder for the final version of the texture, this release is for those that might enjoy using the texture in its current state. That state being a rather simple and clean Pip-Boy with a 2-tone gold and black front plate. The faded text has been replaced with clean labels (Overseer Font Used). There are two versions at 2k (final version will include 4k since MUCH more detail will be present) – one with and one without the black offsets on the front plate. The final versions will living up to the name Pimp-Boy 4 Billion. Right now its more “just a gold reskin”
At the moment, it may seem a simple retexture, however, getting the black offsets to look correct took a LOT of trial and error runs.

IMPORTANT – I am using a Reshade preset (specically Moonz Reshade) in these screenshots. If you are using the Vanilla Fallout 4 color pallete, this will look somewhat desaturated. I suggest using some sort of visual enhancement since vanillaF04 is very washed out.
I recommend Moonz Reshade or Kodachrome from “Vintage Film Looks”

Also note, the screenhots have the FirstOrder Starwars logo on the back – this is NOT correct and has been fixed for the files already. These are just old screenshots while I was testing the mod.

Last note – The gold texture looks best while indoors or under artificial lights. Under sunlight, it may look different (better or worse depending on your visual settup. I will hopefully improve on this for future releases. You might already notice that in the screenshots, the saturation of the gold looks different in some shots – one was taken at night and the other during the day (both indoors) and just the ambient light had changed the hue.

PLANS:
– Custom engravings to fill the current black areas of the front plate
– Redone gauges and meters for a more “luxury watch” feel
– Final multiple versions with separate themes (here are the ones I have in mind and willing to do the art for)
– Headhunter (weaponry and ammo motifs with various creature skull designs, ie Deathclaws, YaoGuoi, SuperMutant, QueenMirelurk, etc)
– HighTech Specialist (geared toward BOS and Institute motifs with electronics and circuitry designs)
– Ghetto Bling (classic pimp-boy gaudy gold and diamonds for those that want a straight gangster pip-boy)
– Far future, diff metal schemes (chrome, gunmetal, bronze, etc)

I haven’t touched any BGSM files yet as I’ve yet to experiment with the material files. Once I do, this will really shine. For now, only diffues and spec maps have been changed.

Need help with:
– As soon as the GECK is released and people begin getting familiar with creating standalone items and simple quests, I’d like to enlist some help with creating some background and immersion around the Sole Survivor receiving a brand spanking gold Pimp-Boy. ATM you can just replace your Pip-Boy texture with this, but I’d like it so that the Pimp-Boy is offered to the SS as a reward – something achievement-like that has to do with the themes mentioned above.

Polite suggestions are welcome since this is WIP.
