Minimalist HUD and Crosshair

For compatibility with other UI mods such as
no dotdotdot by just or UXO – User Experience Overhaul for Fallout 4 by necromunger
Install my mod last, and allow to overwrite hudmenu.swf

Requires editing HUD Safezone values in Fallout4.ini – refer to required files please.
Cornered HUD – simple fix by pauldenton (or scroll to bottom of desc for quick info)

I recommend No Magic Compass — Fallout 4 Edition by PlausibleSarge to remove enemy compass markers, etc.

This is a HUD configuration I created for my personal use. The goal is to make a minimalist UI and to resize or completely remove elements which I find unnecessary. The only crosshair that will activate will be the Dot, and only when hovering over an interact-able object or NPC. This is my first time doing any such modifications to shockwave flash files so consider this a disclaimer: it’s not perfect!

Warning: I have hidden almost every notification
including Quest and Objective Updates, Perk Boy and
Condition Boy animations as well as Tutorial text / animations.
Your “Tab” key may see some more use. :o)

The main file contains variations for bigger text and/or compass at top, as well as options to disable the Stealth Indicator and Enemy Markers on compass. If anyone has bandwidth limitations or usage caps (I know it’s only a couple MB but it all adds up) please let me know if you’d like any particular configuration to be maintained as a standalone download. I’ve been there – I know how it is! Send a PM please so that I’ll be sure to get the message.

Despite being a fan of Fallout since I first played Fo2 ‘long time ‘go,
I was not even going to buy this game until some lovely modders had fixed
the atrocious UI. I am not a fan of huge flashy animations and giant bars
obscuring my view of the world I’m trying to immerse myself in.

Once I saw here what people had already done with the UI I decided to take
the plunge, but no particular HUD mod suited my tastes; so I started messing
around and this is what I’ve come up with so far.

Many thanks to Goomashroom for his Article on how to edit the HUDmenu.swf!
Also thanks to nyrb for his FOMOD XML guide!

For the Safezone fix, in
My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4.ini
[Interface]
fSafeZoneX=5.0
fSafeZoneY=2.0
fSafeZoneXWide=5.0
fSafeZoneYWide=2.0
fSafeZoneXWide16x10=5.0
fSafeZoneYWide16x10=2.0

To change the overall opacity of the HUD, in
My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs.ini
[MAIN]
fHUDOpacity=x.xxxx Default =1.0000

In the future I may produce versions with only crosshair changes, or everything but. Please be patient. :o)
